Fall 2025 Lessons Schedule

Livingston Tournaments

Tournaments are hosted by Seun Bisiriyu, FIDE National Arbiter, and USCF Tournament Director. The Tournaments are open to all, not only to our students.
In Scholastic Tournaments, children compete in the following sections:

  • Section 1 (K - 2nd grade) (UNRATED)

  • Section 2 (K - 4th grade) (UNRATED)

  • Section 3 (K - 12th grade) U800

  • Section 4 (K - 12th grade) U1400

Monthly Quads give children an opportunity to have a competitive play session where they can practice what they've been taught, get familiar with US Chess tournament conditions, rules and regulations, and prepare them to become future champions. Also, it serves as an avenue for them to play competitive chess between Scholastic Tournaments and a chance to boost their rating.

Friday Games Sessions

To give students a low-pressure tournament experience, we offer weekly Friday Game Sessions from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Players are paired according to level (from B2 through FM) and get to practice key tournament skills—playing a variety of opponents, keeping notation, and using chess clocks.

Each session begins with a structured “mock tournament”, followed by game analysis and open play. Beyond skill-building, these evenings foster meaningful connections. Many students form long-term friendships through shared interests and real-life (not virtual) socializing.

Ready to try? Call us at 973-758-1500 or email info@doremi-nj.com and ask for a Questionnaire or a private assessment lesson. The instructor can recommend which level your child should begin with. Or fill out the Request Information form.
